To Piața Unirii, the heart of Cetate, it is 20–25 minutes. The riverside path along the Bega is flat and pleasant, and you can walk or cycle it. If you are going to the train station, Gara de Nord, it is a 25-minute walk or a short tram ride.

Good to know before you book

Cobbles are the usual surprise in the centre: wheeled cases rattle and heels suffer. Most museums close on Monday. Terraces take cards; the markets and the bakeries prefer cash.

Parking inside the ring is metered, scarce and enforced in working hours. If you are driving, price a property with a garage or stay out on Circumvalațiunii.
